A new approach to learning and teaching of a group of school students – The second COLAB workshop in Poland

On March 6th 2017, the second COLAB workshop in Poland was held in Warsaw. The workshop was attended by over 50 people, including about 30 representatives of schools of various education level and 10 consultants and methodological advisors working with school teachers.

The workshop involved participants that joined the COLAB project from the beginning and who participated in the MOOC in 2016. They referred to materials and knowledge generated during the platform training (lessons scenarios in particular) and presented the differences in the understanding of collaborative learning and working in groups. They also underlined the importance of teachers’ competences in the process and stressed the issue of delegating responsibility for the results of the work from teachers to students.

During the workshop, IBE and EUN presented the results of the benchmark survey on the understanding of Collaborative Learning concept, among the partner countries, and some statistics on the participation in the MOOC in Poland, where 34 participants completed the course, mostly teachers. The course was positively assessed by its participants.

The third workshop is planned for 5 June 2017, with a focus on the experience of the teachers implementing CL in the school practice.
